Best staple foods for Indonesia are Rice, Corns and Sago.

Sago is a type of powder found from the Sago tree. When cut down the center of the trunk gets very dry and turns into a type of powder. They use Sago as an ingrediant to make things like bread, spices and even Sago pudding. There are types of sago found from different trees like Palm Sago found from Sago Palms and Cycad Sago which takes longer to make but more rich in flavor. There are also corn fields and rice which mainly has the same flavour as Canadian farms.

Clothing/Entertainment/How they lived

If Kids are rich enough or have enough money they can have a television. There are children shows so they can have some enjoyment. They’re also video rental place to get movies or just to buy things. But if Adults aren’t wealthy enough for things like television they can get a cheap radio for entertainment. In an Indonesian life style there are a lot of rich people in the cities but at the same time there are poor people living in the slums. Even at a crossroad there would probably be beggars begging for money through the windows of the cars. Women on an ordinary day wear a traditional long dress/ a sarong. They also wear a scarf wrapped around their head which is call a Hijab. Men normally wear a simple shirt made out of cloth but there traditional clothes are called Batik.

The Indonesians are very rich in resources. Right now Indonesia is in the period in great development but sadly, this economic advantage does not benefit/help all of the population. Lots of the children are living in unsanitary need and unable to help themselves. The children can't enjoy their rights to have a normal life with a happy family. Needs that aren't being met in Indonesia is the helth and saftey issues for the children. Roughly 40% of children die before the age of 5. Babies for example are vulnerable to multiple diseases such as low weight.

                                                          

 

 

NGOs that are helping

Project Hope is trying to help Indonesia’s health system for seven years after the dangerous tsunami. The tsunami destroyed many health and safety utilities far a normal life so Project Hope is trying to restore the island back to its original prosperity and with that, it's helping other problems. There are also a network of NGOs called the JURAK which are trying to whipe out all types of child labour in the area and tries to collect other people in the area to help stop child labour. The JURAK try to spread to most of the islands and other countries that surround  Indonesia so they stop more child labour so kids can enjoy there childhood rights.

 

                                                    

Tourist Spots

There are a lot of amazing places to go to in Indonesia like the Borobudur which is the world famous Buddhist temple which took 75 years to make in the 8th or 9th century. Another tourist spot is Mount Bromo which is an active volcano located near the coast of one of Indonesia’s islands.  The mountain is surrounded by the sea of sand which has the fine volcano sand. Lastly there is the Bali, one of the most famous island destinations continuously winning travel awards. With its rugged coastline, tropical beaches, lush rice terraces and the volcano hillsides, this is by far the number one place to go to have a picturesque backdrop and a colorful landscape.
